EUROPEAN DOCUMENTATION AND INFORMATION CENTRE (EDIS CU)

EUROPEAN DOCUMENTATION AND INFORMATION CENTRE (EDIS CU)

EDIS is located in the Jinonice Library and serves as a consultation, methodological and teaching centre, especially as regards sources of information on the European Union. The activities of EDIS focus on:

  • monitoring, retrieving and processing European documents, regulations and legal standards, including preparatory documents published by the EU institutions,
  • disseminating study, research and other information from the EU concerning universities,
  • providing advisory, coordination and support activities for the activities of faculties and other units of the Charles University in the field of the so-called European dimension.
  • By concluding an agreement between the European Commission and Charles University, EDIS receives one copy of periodical and non-periodical publications and documents of the European Union free of charge.

The Representation of the European Commission in the Czech Republic coordinates and improves the availability of information on the EU and methodically manages the activities of the European Documentation Centres in the Czech Republic, including EDIS at Charles University.
